True Heart Diease

Pharmaceutical companies make billions of dollars selling drugs that prevent hardening of the arteries, a condition that can lead to heart attacks, which kill thousands of people every year.

A more serious condition than hardening of the arteries, however, is hardening of the heart, and it cannot be prevented by any wonder drug. The prophet Zechariah warned the Israelites about it. They had hardened their hearts and refused to listen to the words of the Lord. Symptoms of this deadly condition were their refusal to execute true justice and their failure to show mercy and compassion (Zech. 7:9). As a result, the Lord became angry and stopped listening to them (v.13).

While it’s important to keep plaque from forming in our arteries, it’s even more important to keep our hearts from becoming callous to people who are important to God: widows, orphans, aliens, and the poor (v.10).

It’s crucial to follow our doctor’s orders to keep our arteries from hardening. But it’s even more crucial to obey God to keep our hearts from becoming hardened to the needs of others.

Ask God to bring to mind a person who needs the help of someone with a soft heart.

— Julie Ackerman Link

Zechariah 7:8-14(NKJV)
8 Then the word of the LORD came to Zechariah, saying,
9 “Thus says the LORD of hosts:

‘ Execute true justice,
Show mercy and compassion
Everyone to his brother.
10 Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless,
The alien or the poor.
Let none of you plan evil in his heart
Against his brother.’

11 “But they refused to heed, shrugged their shoulders, and stopped their ears so that they could not hear.
12 Yes, they made their hearts like flint, refusing to hear the law and the words which the LORD of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the former prophets. Thus great wrath came from the LORD of hosts.
13 Therefore it happened, that just as He proclaimed and they would not hear, so they called out and I would not listen,” says the LORD of hosts.
14 “But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations which they had not known. Thus the land became desolate after them, so that no one passed through or returned; for they made the pleasant land desolate.”

To love Christ is to have a heart for others.

A Christmas Response

William Theron Yates

O God, we have sinned, been cast out of Thy Garden, and brought death to ourselves and our children.
Come, Son of Adam!

We have doubted thy promises.
Come, Son of Abraham!
We have disobeyed Thy commands and been in Captivity.
Come, Son of Moses!

We have desired Earthly kings to reign over us.
Come, Son of David!

We have loved darkness for our deeds are evil.
Come, Light of the World!

We have built our lives on shifting sand.
Come, Rock of Ages!

All we like sheep have gone astray.
Come, Good Shepherd!

We have gone after strange loves.
Come, Heavenly Bridegroom!

There is no good in us that we may fellowship with Thee.
Come, Emmanuel!

We have longed for a king to defeat our enemies.
Come, Babe of Bethlehem!

We have no power to rescue ourselves.
Come, Savior of the World!

We all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
Come, our Righteousness, our Peace, our Redeemer!

We listen for angels to say
Come to Bethlehem, Christ is born!

Ho, all ye who wait for the Messiah! He is come!
Glory to God in the Highest!
Joy to the World, the Lord is Come! Alleluia!

A Christmas Benediction

William Theron Yates

It's Christmas time! Got your gift list ready? Wondering what to get your kid for Christmas? Something useful (clothes, perhaps) or something fun (a bike, a game)? What to give your loved ones, the mailman, your second cousin twice-removed...
Why do we give gifts at Christmas anyway?

What is a gift? The dictionary defines "gift" as

"Anything given; anything voluntarily transferred by one person to another without compensation; a present; an offering."

The custom of giving gifts at Christmas is said to be derived from the actions of the Magi in giving gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the Christ Child. But these gifts can be said to be rightly His due as King.

The proper example for our gift-giving is God Himself. God the Father has given us the Ultimate Gift, His only Son, Jesus Christ. Why? We certainly do not deserve such largesse.

God gave this gift solely out of His love for us. And this gift, though freely given, was purchased for us at a terrible price: the blood of His only beloved Son. And we are able to accept that gift only through God's gift of faith.
Christ, too, is our example of gift-giving. He gave himself for us.
The Holy Spirit is also our example of gift-giving. The Spirit is the gift that keeps on giving.

When you give gifts, what do you look for in the recipient?
A look of surprise, joy, and gratitude. It is what makes gift-giving so satisfying.

And what is our response to the gifts of God?
We respond with surprise‹that we are so loved when we know we do not deserve it.
We respond with joy‹that we have received eternal life with Christ.
We respond with gratitude‹that we have been saved from our just condemnation.

Now as you enter this gift-giving season, give according to the example of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. And receive according to how you have received these gifts from God: with surprise, joy, and gratitude.

Now may God Almighty, the Great Giver of Gifts, through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, grant you the peace and joy of Christmas in the birth, life, death, and resurrection of His great Gift, His only Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen and Merry Christmas!

A Shepherd's Tale

William Theron Yates
My name is Benjamin. I am a shepherd. Not that I ever wanted to be a shepherd, but that's what I was doing at the time. It didn't pay much, but it's all I could find to bring in money for food. And drink.
I hated the work. Working for some fat sheep owner, sitting in his warm house with his warm wife while I sat out in the wind and rain and cold watching the sheep. Sheep are the dumbest creatures on Earth. Leave them alone and they'll all wander away and get themselves killed in a minute. And the chief shepherd, Judah, is a real pain. Always telling me what to do, "Go get that lamb!", "Keep them together!", "Come on, get moving!" What makes him so important?
We were watching the sheep on a hill outside of Bethlehem. Judah was yakking away with some of the others. The night was black. As black as the cavern of my heart.
Then came the light!
It slammed me to the ground like the hand of God. It was bright as noon where we stood but still black all around us. I could see nothing but the blackness of my heart. I tried to hide beneath my cloak, bury myself in the ground. I felt a rush of shame engulfing me.
And then he spoke. He looked like a man, but somehow, not a man. He was just there, like the light. His voice was powerful but gentle; it penetrated me.
"Don't be afraid!" he said. And suddenly I wasn't. At least not like the moment before.
"Listen! I bring you the most wonderful news, news that will bring great joy to all people everywhere! Today, in the city of David, a Savior is born! He is Christ, the Lord‹the Messiah! And this is how you will know Him when you find Him: you will find a baby, wrapped in swaddling cloths, and lying in a manger."
The Messiah? The Promised One? Here? Now? I was having trouble getting my mind around this news when there were thousands of... angels, I guess... singing the most joyful and glorious music I have ever heard.
"Glory to God in the Highest!"
"And peace on Earth to men with whom He is well pleased!"
And then they were gone. It was dark again. We gaped at each other, then started talking all at once. I wasn't dreaming, the others saw and heard it, too. Judah said, "Come! Let's go find the baby!" And we turned toward Bethlehem and began to run.
We quickly slowed to a fast walk after I demonstrated the folly of running on rocky ground in the dark of night. After I picked myself up, wincing from the bruising I received from the hard stones, we proceeded. I almost pointed out to Judah that he had left the sheep‹a violation of his own primary rule! But it didn't seem so important any more.
Soon we came to the town. Somehow we seemed to know where to go. We found the stable, a rude shelter with one old donkey loosely tethered inside. To the side a young woman sat on the ground, leaning against a manger. A man who had been seated on the ground next to the woman rose as we approached. He did not seem surprised that we were there. Judah came a little closer and the man moved as if to say, "That's far enough." Judah knelt down on his knees and tears began to well up in his eyes. He whispered "Hallelujah!" over and over to himself. I simply stared at the baby. The angel had said we would find a baby, and we did. But he seemed so small! So tiny and helpless! This was the Messiah?
I thought and thought about it. It's not every day an angel speaks to you. And the light! And the thousands of singing angels! That is hard to ignore. This must be the Messiah. But what does it mean? The Messiah, the Anointed One, the Son of David. The names and phrases came back to me from my spotty attendance and attention as a boy in the synagogue. He would save his people‹us. When and how were beyond my ability to think about. But I had to admit I was pleased. More than pleased, I felt a joy I had rarely known in my life. I knew my blackness was still within, but it seemed less like a looming darkness than a stain which might be erased somehow. I knelt beside Judah.
We left after a little while, more to give the young mother some rest than because we wanted to. We began talking among ourselves with growing animation and intensity, a moving source of noise in the quiet night. Occasionally we came across someone out in the streets at night. We would immediately accost them with the joyous news of the Messiah's birth, the angels, and everything. Most though we were drunk. Or crazy. We were roundly cursed on more than one occasion. But some listened to us. And a wondering smile would grow on their faces and they would leave with a lighter step.
It's been over thirty years since that dark night. I am still a shepherd, now a chief shepherd. I heard one day of a man called Jesus of Nazareth and his remarkable teachings. I went one day to hear him, along with thousands of others. His words were penetrating and moved me deeply. And he healed people! After he was done, as I was leaving, I happened to pass near him. He looked at me as if he had seen a long-lost friend, smiled, and clapped me on the shoulder. "Benjamin! It's been a long, long time! I'm glad you came today!" I stood there like a fool, not knowing what to say. And then he moved on to others.
I was shocked and heart-broken at what they did to him. I wept when I heard he had been crucified. I moved about my business without any energy or feeling for the next few days. And then one of his friends told me he was alive! Now this was more unbelievable than angels! I was very skeptical until one day I joined with a few hundred of his friends who had gathered to remember him and discuss the latest happenings when I realized with a start that he was there! Alive! I fell to my knees and cried "Hallelujah!" over and over to myself. The darkness which had ebbed and flowed in me all my life seemed to shrivel to a tiny spot and I was filled with the same feeling I felt at that manger. Joy!
For years I told the story of the appearance of the Angels. Often, I am ashamed to say, with pride. But now I tell it with humility that the first to be told from Heaven of the Messiah's birth was Benjamin, the shepherd, a miserable sinner. In the years since, in happiness and sorrow, in pleasure and pain, the joy of that word from God has sustained me. And as you remember this tale, may you experience that same joy.

The Most Beautiful Christmas Tree Ever

The Most Beautiful Christmas Tree Ever
by
William Theron Yates

The Christmas tree stood in a corner of the room, decorated from tip to floor with lights and tinsel and garlands and ornaments and a star shining down from the top. It was a beautiful tree. The family had spent many hours decorating it. Boxes of things from Christmas past had been pulled out of hidden places in overstuffed closets and the dusty attic. Cries of "Oh, remember this one?" and "Didn't Grandma make this decoration?" and "Where's my little toy soldier?" and the rustle of wrapping paper filled the air. Music of the season flowed from the stereo and the intoxicating scent of cinnamon and gingerbread filled the air as Mother baked Christmas cookies in the kitchen.
Gradually the tree had been transformed from a somewhat scraggly and slightly lopsided piece of greenery into a joyous symbol of Christmas. "Isn't this the most beautiful Christmas tree we ever had, Daddy?", a young voice asked. "No", cried another, "It's the most beautiful Christmas tree ever!"
As all pairs of eyes in the room turned to me, awaiting confirmation of this most excellent judgment, my mind suddenly filled with trees‹a forest of evergreens and elms, oaks and maples, sycamores and cypresses‹and one certain tree. Before I quite knew what I was saying, I replied, "No. This is not the most beautiful Christmas tree ever." Cries of "What?" and "Yes, it is!" assaulted my ears. "Hush!" I said, "Shall I tell you of the most beautiful Christmas tree ever?"
"Oh, yes, Daddy, please tell us!" they chorused.
"Well, a long time ago, long before the very first Christmas, God said, 'One day, I will send My Son to the world, and He will show all people how to live and how to worship Me. He will give them a never-ending life with Me in Heaven where they will be happy forever. All they have to do is to be sorry for doing things their own way instead of My better way and to believe that He is my Son.' "
"Long years passed and it was time for God's Son, Jesus, to be born. This is what we celebrate as Christmas."
"Yeah, there were shepherds and angels and wise men," said one. "And Joseph and Mary, His mother," replied another.
"Yes. You all know the story of Christmas. But do you know the story of the first Christmas tree?"
"No, tell us! Tell us!"
"There was no tree at the first Christmas. In fact, the first Christmas tree didn't even come at Christmas!"
"What do you mean?"
"How could it be a Christmas tree if it wasn't at Christmas?"
"Well, Jesus grew up and told everyone about God, His Father, and that they could live forever with Him in Heaven. And many people believed. But some people did not want to change the way they were living. And they were very powerful people. And they got together and arrested Jesus and sentenced Him to die."
"Yeah, they nailed Him on a cross", said a sad, small voice.
"Yes. That cross was the First Christmas Tree! We hang ornaments and decorations on our tree to make it look beautiful, don't we?"
Heads nodded.
"Well, when they hung Jesus on the cross, they hung the most beautiful ornament ever! He had a wreath—of thorns—and garlands—of the blood He shed for us so we could go to Heaven. Those were the most priceless decorations ever. Because Jesus, God's greatest gift to us, died for us nailed to that tree, it really is The Most Beautiful Christmas Tree Ever!"
And all agreed.

A Question Of Motive

Hebrews 4:11-16 (NKJV)

The Word Discovers Our Condition

11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. 12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

Our Compassionate High Priest

14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

A Question Of Motive

My wife and I were stopped at a railroad crossing to allow a train to pass. As we waited in the line of cars, the driver next to us suddenly darted through a nearby parking lot and headed in the direction of the next available railroad crossing.

I turned to Marlene and said, with some righteous indignation, “Look at that guy. He’s trying to get around the train instead of waiting like the rest of us.” As soon as I said those words, the man, camera in hand, hopped from his car to take pictures of the oncoming train. I had judged his motives, and I was dead wrong.

Although we can observe behavior and outward appearance, only God can see what’s in the heart. That is one reason we all need the Word of God so desperately. Hebrews 4:12 says, “The Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

When we find ourselves ready to judge another person’s motives, let’s pause and remember—only God can see the heart, and only His Word can expose its motives. Our responsibility is to let the Lord and His Word convict us about our own hearts.

Call me a fool

I'd rather believe in God and find out He wasn't real, then not believing and find He was. You might find me foolish in believing in the creator of the universe but I rather be a fool then not.

The New Man

Ephesians 4:17-24 (NKJV)
The New Man

17 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of[a] the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, 18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; 19 who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
20 But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

Some suggested that my mother have an abortion but she did not and so I am alive today. My story in expressed in my video "Morning Has broken: Abortion and Pro-life" Abortion stops a beating heart thousands of times per day. A human heart starts beating 18-24 days after conception, before a woman even knows she is pregnant. I am not condemning anyone who has had an abortion, I do not have the authority to judge them. All I am saying is that life and the soul of a baby in the womb is precious , it means something in this world, and we should think twice before taking that life away. What was his or her life suppose to be? What does her life mean now? What was the baby suppose to learn? Who was she suppose to affect? We don't have the wisdom to stop her beating heart, stop the life the surges through her.Regarding Rape, Incest, and the life of the mother:I, myself, was pro-choice for years. I felt that it was wrong as simply a from of birth control, but that in the hard cases it should be allowed. The thing to remember, however, is that in cases such as rape and incest, the child conceived is still present... Rape and incest are some of the worst, most violating, harmful events a woman can go through. No one can ever justify them. However, the life conceived in this horrible acts is innocent. The rapist often gets away or is given jail time. His child is given the death penalty. No woman should ever have to make that choice. No woman should ever be violated against her will. But the biology--the life--of the baby conceived is no different than any other baby conceived. Also, many women who have an abortion after a rape still feel immense regret and go through the same feelings of rape as they go through the painful act of abortion. Many women who allow the child to live feel that they have been able to rise above the evil act of rape by having their child. Nearly 1% of women getting abortions have been raped and we must always show them love and care, but if you realize that the child is a human being how can killing him or her make the rapist act less painful? And those instances where the mother's life is actually in dangerwhere the baby or her will die--usually only occur at 5 months gestation or after where, if the baby was delivered and not killed through abortion, he or she would have a least a chance at living.I do realize that other instances, such as an ectopic pregnancy--where there is no chance of survival for the baby and the mother's life is in danger-- require different attention. In these cases the baby can be removed from the mother, and as he or she is too young to survive outside the womb will p!@%% away.I am in no way condemning those 1% of women who have to make these tough choices in cases of rape, incest, and illness. It is not my place to judge them. My goal is to spread the reality of life in the womb to the other 99% of women who may seek abortion and their friends, relatives, boyfriend, husbands etc. Between 1/3 and 1/4 of all babies conceived are aborted. These little lives are snuffed out. If only we could all know the beauty that is every human life. Regarding "Saving" children from abuse, neglect, disease, a handicap etc. by taking their life by abortion:By saying that one is saving children from tough family situations, and those who may be born with drug addictions or HIV or a handicap, you are also saying that these children are less human or less deserving of life than other "normal" babies. Before we try to "save" those babies by killing them, maybe we should think of the beauty of their life, of the love of their friends, and their future impact on the world. Are the children with the above "conditions" who live outside of the womb, who are newborns, toddlers, teens, etc less worth to live because their lives seem much "harder" than our own. How many of us can really say they should not be alive? A tough family situation, a handicap, having HIV or a pre-natal addiction to drugs does not doom a person's life...Are we willing to tell all those people who have been born "abnormal" that they don't deserve to live or that their life is not as worthy or meaningful as our own? That it would have been better that they hadn't been born? I believe those people would disagree.

'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'

One day a man hopped in a taxi and they took off for the airport. They were
driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a
parking space right in front of them. The taxi driver slammed on his
brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of
the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. The taxi
driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really
friendly.
So the man asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car
and sent us to the hospital!' This is when the taxi driver taught the guy what
I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'
He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around
full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of
disappointment.
As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes
they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish
them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other
people at work, at home, or on the streets.
The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take
over their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets,
so.....Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who
don't.'

Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!

A Child’s Wonder

Psalm 78 (NKJV)

A Contemplation of Asaph.

1 Give ear, O my people, to my law; Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

2 I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old,

3 Which we have heard and known, And our fathers have told us.

4 We will not hide them from their children, Telling to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, And His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.

5 For He established a testimony in Jacob, And appointed a law in Israel, Which He commanded our fathers, That they should make them known to their children;

6 That the generation to come might know them, The children who would be born, That they may arise and declare them to their children,

7 That they may set their hope in God, And not forget the works of God, But keep His commandments;

8 And may not be like their fathers, A stubborn and rebellious generation, A generation that did not set its heart aright, And whose spirit was not faithful to God.

A Child’s Wonder

In 19th-century Scotland, a young mother observed her 3-year-old son’s inquisitive nature. It seemed he was curious about everything that moved or made a noise. James Clerk Maxwell would carry his boyhood wonder with him into a remarkable career in science. He went on to do groundbreaking work in electricity and magnetism. Years later, Albert Einstein would say of Maxwell’s work that it was “the most fruitful that physics has experienced since the time of Newton.”

From early childhood, religion touched all aspects of Maxwell’s life. As a committed Christian, he prayed: “Teach us to study the works of Thy hands . . . and strengthen our reason for Thy service.” The boyhood cultivation of Maxwell’s spiritual life and curiosity resulted in a lifetime of using science in service to the Creator.

The community of faith has always had the responsibility to nurture the talent of the younger generation and to orient their lives to the Lord, “that they may arise and declare [God’s law] to their children, that they may set their hope in God” (Ps. 78:6-7).

Finding ways to encourage children’s love for learning while establishing them in the faith is an important investment in the future.

Why God Made Mothers

arrow2_md_wht_17332.gif (2813 bytes) godmom-4a.jpg (9210 bytes) arrow2_md_wht_17432.gif (2995 bytes)

By the time the Lord made mothers, he was into his sixth day of working overtime.

An Angel appeared and said "Why are you spending so much time on this one"?

bullet2_md_wht_21049.gif (3510 bytes)

bullet2_md_wht_21049.gif (3510 bytes) bullet2_md_wht_21049.gif (3510 bytes)

And the Lord answered and said, "Have you seen the spec sheet on her? She has to be completely washable, but not plastic, have 200 movable parts, all replaceable, run on black coffee and leftovers, have a lap that can hold three children at one time and that disappears when she stands up, have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart, and have six pairs of hands."

arrow2_md_wht_17332.gif (2813 bytes) godmom-1a.jpg (7167 bytes) arrow2_md_wht_17432.gif (2995 bytes)

The Angel was astounded at the requirements for this one. "Six pairs of hands! No Way!", said the Angel.

The Lord replied, "Oh, it's not the hands that are the problem. It's the three pairs of eyes that mothers must have!"

"And that's just on the standard model?" the Angel asked.

The Lord nodded in agreement, "Yep, one pair of eyes are to see through the closed door as she asks her children what they are doing even though she already knows. Another pair in the back of her head, are to see what she needs to know even though no one thinks she can. And the third pair are here in the front of her head. They are for looking at an errant child and saying that she understands and loves him or her without even saying a single word."

The Angel tried to stop the Lord. "This is too much work for one day. Wait until tomorrow to finish."

"But I can't!" The Lord protested, "I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart. She already heals herself when she's sick AND can feed a family of six on a pound of hamburger and can get a nine year old to stand in the shower. "

The Angel moved closer and touched the woman, "But you have made her so soft, Lord."

"She is soft," the Lord agreed, "but I have also made her tough. You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish."

"Will she be able to think?", asked the Angel.

The Lord replied, "Not only will she be able to think, she will be able to reason, and negotiate."

The Angel then noticed something and reached out and touched the woman's cheek. "Oops, it looks like you have a leak with this model. I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one."

"That's not a leak." The Lord objected. "That's a tear!"

"What's the tear for?" the Angel asked.

The Lord said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy, her sorrow, her disappointment, her pain, her loneliness, her grief, and her pride."

The Angel was impressed. "You are a genius, Lord. You thought of everything; for mothers are truly amazing!"

My Son My Husband

My son the other day went to work with his dad. On the way he told his dad, " I want to get mom something. I want to get her a ring because I love her and I want her to know that". He is a duplicate of his daddy. They both are great in thinking about others, Doing for others and showing their love by giving in material things and mostly their actions. My daughter and I are very blessed to have these two guys in our lives.

Do Unto Others

Matthew 7:7-12 (NKJV)

Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking

7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
12 Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Love is an attitude, love is a prayer
For someone in sorrow, a heart in despair;
Love is good will for the gain of another,
Love suffers long with the fault of a brother. —Anon.

Love is the debt we owe one another.

What is a Mother?

A Mother is someone who God chooses to bare a child.
A Mother is someone who loves their child.
A Mother is someone who wants the best for their child.
A Mother doesn't cause harm to their child.
A Mother loves with action.

A MOM DOES ALL OF THIS

My prayer for all mothers is that they love their children like Christ loves them.

Beware Of Another Gospel

I know the world will get worse before Christ come back. Aren't we to look at times to be as in Noah's days to see that Christ is coming soon. It does sadden my heart to see people miss leading people in the name of Christianity. It disturbs me that people say they love Jesus and yet think it's ok to kill an unborn child. I have some friend's who are going to be grandparents. If we as God fearing believers believe we are a person at conception then my friends are grandparents and their child is a parent no matter what. Are we to love the sinner and hate their sin as Christ hates sin. Or like God Hated Esau in Romans 9:12-14 (NIV)12 not by works but by him who calls—she was told, "The older will serve the younger." 13 Just as it is written: "Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated." 14 What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! Romans 9:12-14 (NKJV)
12 it was said to her, “The older shall serve the younger.”13 As it is written, “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.”14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? Certainly not! All things in Heaven and on earth are up to God and His plan. We just need to be obedient to His will. Go to http://www.faithandfreedom.us/weblog/blogger.html

He’s Waiting Psalm 34:1-15

God loves me dearly and waits for me to fellowship with Him. How many days do I forget Him?

The Lord welcomes our worship, our prayer, our praise. He has told us in His Word to pray all the time (1 Thess. 5:17). As He did with the church in Laodicea in Revelation 3, Christ knocks on the door of our heart and patiently waits (v.20). He listens attentively for our call, our cry, our prayer. How often does He wait in vain?

David C. Egner

We can know that God is watching,
Always present, everywhere,
And with hope and joy and patience
He is waiting for our prayer. —Roworth

Talk with God—He longs to hear from you.
